In March 2017 thirty people from the neighbourhood surrounding the Shinheung Market, in Haebangchon, Seoul,  where invited to tell their dreams in front of a video camera.

Particpating people where encouraged to try to explain any vision or dream, with no regards to its realisation potential. The presented material consist of documentary material and demographical statistical facts about the neighbourhood.

FUTURE DREAMS

Video material, consisting of interviews with Haebangchon residents and demographic statistics about the neighbourhood, will be presented on monitors in shops around Haebangchon.

Some displays are visible from the street and others are placed inside the shops.

HBC LOCATIONS

The people who shared their dreams about their future has made a generous contribution to create of this public art project.

Above all their activity might also be a way for some of those dreams to come through.

A GUSTAV HELLBERG PUBLIC ART PROJECT

This project started as Framtidsscanner [Future Scanner] and was carried out in Varberg, Sweden, in May 2016, where it was part of Art Inside Out’s pilot residency program. A second version of this project is currently being developed in Hopetoun, a small town on the southern coast of West Australia.
